To sell flower arrangements for all occasions and promote their company.
There is a wide variety of good quality flower arrangements suitable for different occasions.
The homepage draws customers by using advertising techniques.
It boasts their loyalty card process on the homepage, this plants the idea of saving money in the customers head at the first instant which encourages the customer to usewebsite on a regular basis.
You do not need to have an account or membership to order from the website.
The website is reasonably well structured, however it does have some faults.
There are separate pages for the flowers for each type of event, however the page for weddings has a new link which interrupts the familiarity the customer has gained with the website structure.
Also, if you click the link on homepage to “order online”, then you enter a new site for online ordering. This again makes it harder to navigate as you have to become familiar with a new layout. It loses the brand feeling without the soft pink layout with flower images into a harsh black on white corporate feel.
The homepage is well presented though, which gives a good first impression.
Another plus is that the pages are relatively simple and uncluttered which makes it easy to use.
The website offers a range of flowers for different occasions, however the separate layouts for different services can be confusing.
It is easy to tell that the websites aim is to sell flower arrangements because of the colour scheme and images.
The website gives detailed information with an image for each arrangement. However, the image only shows one colour option of each arrangement, therefore you would have to imagine it in a different colour.
You can order the products using the internet. The options are:
Selecting the arrangement online and then giving your details over phone,
Or
You can use your credit card to pay or use Pay Pal for a safer option.
The information required by the website prior to purchase is:
Step 1 Address Step 2 Shipping Info Step3 Review Step 4 Payment Step 5 Order Complete
(step by step screen shots of a transaction)
It uses overt methods of data capture-
When emailing a friend the information you only have to give their email address and no other details about them.
There are eye catching features on the website that engage you once you are on the site such as the Loyalty card-
And free delivery info:
However as it is a small business it is not advertised widely.
The website is not very user friendly as the links are slow and it is difficult to navigate. Therefore it does not engage customers as well as it could.
